This musical program featured works composed by Steve Reich. It was presented in conjunction with the exhibition Brancusi and Serra in Dialogue at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts. The abstract, simplified forms of Constantin Brancusi and Richard Serra intermixed with the work of Reich, a composer whose path has embraced now only aspects of Western Classical music, but the structures, harmonies, and rhythms of non-Western and American music, particularly jazz.

The program was conducted by David Robertson, Music Director Designate of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, and performed by members of the SLSO.
