Gary Wayne Barker
Gary Wayne Barker is very pleased to appear with members of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, having most recently appeared in Julius Caesar with the Shakespeare Festival of Saint Louis. Gary has performed, directed and taught internationally. Local highlights include Bug for The Repertory Theatre of Saint Louis Off-Ramp Series, Lady Bracknall in the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre production of The Importance of Being Earnest, Boolie in Driving Miss Daisy (for which he was awarded the 2005 Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor) at The New Jewish Theatre, and Sam in The Homecoming (for which he was given a Judy Award by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch) at City Players. Other Saint Louis companies with which he has performed include Avalon Theatre Company, HH Studios, Echo Theatre Company and Historyonics. A proud member of Actors' Equity Association, Gary serves on the Saint Louis Equity Liaison Committee. Gary holds an MFA in acting from Michigan State University, with advanced study at The Actors Center in New York and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Saint Louis University.
