
Peter Otto
Peter Otto, a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York City, currently holds the position of Assistant Concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. He joined
the first violin section in September 2001.
Mr. Otto received his bachelor’s degree in Germany, his native country, at the Music Academy of Rostock. He has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Czech Philharmonic, the Rostock Philharmonic, the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Japan. He has performed live on German national radio stations such as the Deutschlandfunk Berlin and the Norddeutscher Rundfunk.
Peter Otto was a top prize-winner in the 1998 Max Rostal International Violin Competition in Berlin, as well as the Kingsville International Young Performers Competition in Texas. His teachers have included Dorothy Delay, Lewis Kaplan, Igor Ozim and Vera Kramarowa. Mr. Otto has participated in masterclasses of renowned artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Zakhar Bron, Igor Oistrakh, and Ruggiero Ricci.
