A native of Dallas, Texas, cellist David Kim has been a member of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra since 2000.  David also currently holds a position at the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.  He spent the previous six years studying at the Juilliard School, receiving Bachelor and Master of Music degrees.  While at Juilliard, he led the Juilliard Orchestra, Juilliard Opera Orchestra, and New York String Orchestra as Principal Cello.  His teachers include Ronald Leonard, Steven Geber, David Finckel, and Harvey Shapiro.

David has made numerous solo, concerto, and chamber music appearances at the Aspen Music Festival, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Alice Tully Hall, Kosciusko Foundation, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Sheldon Concert Hall, and Merkin Hall.
