Morris Jacob

Morris Jacob

A member of the Saint Louis Symphony since 1981, violist Morris Jacob received his musical training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied violin with David Cerone and viola with Robert Vernon. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance in 1975 and his Master of Music degree in violin and viola performance in 1977. Prior to joining the SLSO, Morris served as Associate Principal Viola of the Columbus (Ohio) Symphony for four years. Since coming to St. Louis, he has been very active as a chamber musician and has appeared as soloist with the Saint Louis Symphony and the Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. When not on stage, he enjoys woodworking, having designed and built most of the furniture in the home he shares with his wife, Anne Fagerburg. Morris and Anne plan on living in Sun Valley when they retire or upon winning an enormous lottery jackpot, whichever comes first.
