This panel features representatives from St. Louis art institutions currently displaying portraits, with each of the speakers addressing the subject from the perspective of their individual institutions. The program will include topics such as the tradition of portraiture, portraiture and identity, portraits as artifacts and portraits as an artistic statement.
The afternoon will conclude with a general discussion, moderated by John Klein, Visiting Associate Professor, Department of Art History and Archaeology, Washington University in St. Louis and Associate Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art, University of Missouri-Columbia.
