After Hours at the Pulitzer
April 13, 2006

St. Louis, MO – Experience what it's like After Hours at the Pulitzer on Thursday, April 13th from 5:30pm – 8:30pm.

Throughout the evening, students from Washington University will be in the galleries to discuss the exhibition, Minimalism and Beyond, with visitors. Through a collaborative program between the two institutions, these students have researched the exhibition and completed docent training in preparation for the event. The event will allow students from across the St. Louis area to meet, to experience the effects of light on the Pulitzer in the evening, and to discuss the art on view with their peers.

Though geared towards students, the event is free and open to all. It will be an excellent opportunity to gain a fresh perspective on Minimalism and Beyond, and an additional chance to view the exhibition before it closes on April 26th. Refreshments will be served in the courtyard. Students with a university ID can enter to win packages generously donated from local institutions and restaurants.

The Pulitzer aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of art and architecture. With the works of art themselves, along with programs, collaborations and exchanges with other cultural and educational institutions, the Pulitzer is a resource for artists, architects, scholars, students and the general public. Integral to its mission is the visitor's experience of the building, designed by Tadao Ando and completed in 2001. It offers a place widely celebrated for its tranquility and for providing an atmosphere conducive to the contemplation, enjoyment and study of art.

The Pulitzer is open and free to the public Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information on docent tours, call 314-535-0770; for group visits of 5 or more, call 314-754-1848.
