Selected Works by Ellsworth Kelly from Saint Louis Collections
April 27, 2002
The installation was curated by the artist and offered a focused view of his artistic evolution over a fifty-year period. The selected works ranged from reliefs during his early years in Paris in 1950, to a new wall sculpture, Blue Black, a 28-foot piece commissioned for the Pulitzer and located on the south wall of the Main Gallery. Also on view were works by George Braque, Alberto Giacometti, Juan Gris, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, and Richard Serra.
