St. Louis, MO – The Pulitzer is pleased to announce the launch of its redesigned website, www.pulitzerarts.org. The launch coincides with the Pulitzer’s fifth anniversary and the opening of the exhibition, Portrait/Homage/Embodiment.
The Pulitzer has always been interested in exploring the potential of the web both as art form and a tool for information. Thus far, its focus has been on different forms of online exhibition catalogues and the development of a blog co-written with the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. With the new and expanded website, the Pulitzer strives to reach a broader audience locally, nationally and internationally and to provide visitors the opportunity to experience the Pulitzer from home.
With a new design, the website has become more three-dimensional and entices visitors to explore the content in depth. The site encourages both explorative and straightforward searches for information using interactive features as well as user-friendly navigation. Expanded information on the Pulitzer is provided, including sections on background, construction, architecture, commissioned art and an interactive map of Grand Center. In-depth detail on exhibitions, events and programming, as well as an expanded press section, is also provided. In addition to textual information, the site will soon offer podcasts of various programming initiatives at the Pulitzer.
The Pulitzer is currently developing a specialized section of the website which will feature expanded information on the collaborative concert series with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. More information on this section will soon be provided.
This project was realized with the help of TOKY Branding + Design in St. Louis. Founded in 2002, TOKY has come to specialize in design for arts and cultural institutions, architects and developers, high schools and universities, and premium consumer products.
The Pulitzer aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of art and architecture. With the works of art themselves, along with programs, collaborations and exchanges with other cultural and educational institutions, the Pulitzer is a resource for artists, architects, scholars, students and the general public.
The Pulitzer is open and free to the public Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Docent-led tours are available to the public at 2pm on both days. For further information on docent tours, call 314-754-1848. For more information about the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, visit www.pulitzerarts.org or call 314-754-1850.
