Architecture Tour

Did you know the concrete panels of the Pulitzer building were cast in place? Or that the smooth exterior concrete finish was created through bead blasting?
Learn about the intricate and unique construction methods developed to build Pritzer Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando's first public commission in the United States. It took four years to construct the building that makes The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts an intersection of art, architecture, and human experience.

Discover the innovative design and construction styles of two architects in one afternoon—Tadao Ando at the Pulitzer and Brad Cloepfil at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (CAM). Tour begins in the lobby of CAM and ends at the Pulitzer.

Structural Systems of the Pulitzer Building

Gain access to insider information about the Tadao Ando-designed building with the structural engineers who built the Pulitzer structure. The means and methods for conceiving the structural systems unique to the building will be discussed.
